#7 – Project in full throttle

Posting have been sparse while details of the site and project outline were worked out between myself and the ArtCity organizers. Now it is in full throttle – contribute your images, videos and ideas. If you wish to share – please send material to:

Summary Outline of project:

The idea is to reflect on the identity of a “place” within a city. The space that this project will focus on is the Olympic Plaza and Olympic Plaza C-Train Station. My concentration will be primarily the C-Train station since people standing on the platform will be able to view projections of videos and images. 

The design of the projection screen is in process – but please send me your camera phone videos and images that reflect your experiences of the c-train and Olympic plaza.

#6 – SITE CHANGES !!!!!

Changes…

So the Transit Authority has denied me to install anything one any c-train station. So – it’s time to make a few adjustments to the project. The realities of insurance.

The site for the project has been moved across the street to Olympic Plaza – along the 7th Ave sidewalk – which faces the Olympic Plaza C-train station. I take this move as a positive move – this may actually be a better site where people standing on the c-train platform can have a better view. The unfortunate part is that they won;t be able to “interact” with the projection screens or other installation areas as first intended.

#5 – New York City

New York City Visit

writing from the new jersey transit train into manhattan…(the beauty of iPod’s new applications)

visiting NYC for 5 days – visiting some new buildings, old colleagues and so some sites that may inspire some ideas for the peepshow installation.

over the next couple of days I’ll update the blog with images, videos and comments that may partake into the ideas tatvare being investigated for the Calgary installation.
